Writer - Physician - Quilter

I’m Cynthia Tuttelman but everyone calls me “Tut”. I write and quilt in Petaluma (Northern California) and Paris where I spend part of each year.

I evolved from sewing underwear crotches in a Rust Belt factory to graduating from medical school, becoming a Family Doctor and sewing lacerations and incisions. Today I stitch together narrative threads into a patchwork of stories, articles and books in addition to creating quilts. My motto (courtesy of the late Molly Ivins, look her up) is:
